Australia completed a 3-0 T20I victory over Bangladesh with a seven-wicket victory in the third and final match at the Bir Shreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday.After electing to bat first, Bangladesh faced yet another batting challenge and managed 109/8 in the allotted 20 overs. Australia made light work of the chase, reaching 112/3 in just 11 overs and sealing victory with 54 balls to spare.The visitors made a quick stand with the ball as Spencer Johnson and Nathan Ellis took the leap for Bangladesh. Johnson impressed, returning impressive figures of 2/6 from four overs, while Ellis chipped in with 2/21. Adam Zampa strengthened the tie in the middle of the overs, claiming 2/22 and bowling another ball as Bangladesh struggled to build momentum.At 42/5, the hosts looked set to go down a bit when stand-in captain Towhid Hridoy produced only resistance. The right-hander smashed 61 off 51 balls, hitting three sixes and holding the innings together as wickets continued to pile up around him. Without Hridoy’s contribution, the whole of Bangladesh would have been less.Chasing a low target, Australia came out with aggressive intentions, led by captain Mitchell Marsh. The skipper dominated the innings and decimated the Bangladesh attack with a blistering 60 in just 28 overs. His innings included four sevens and sixes as he raced to 23 balls in a half-century, which saw the tournament continue for Bangladesh.Josh Inglis scored 17 in the over before Marsh’s departure gave the hosts a brief glimmer of hope. However, Cooper Connolly and Tim David ensured there was no trouble late on, leading Australia comfortably to the final. David added the finishing touch with two great braces as the visitors completed the chase in convincing fashion.The clean sweep marked a strong response from Australia after their shock ODI defeat on the tour.
