The trailer of ‘Klara and the Sun’ is out now
The first trailer for ‘Klara and the Sun’ is out and features Jenna Ortega, best known for her work with Tim Burton in ‘Beetlejuice’ and ‘Wednesday’, as the Artificial Friend. With a goal of finding a perfect home and having the mind of a small child, Klara meets Josie, which begins a wild story. The trailer gives a glimpse of a dystopian future where people can buy robots as ‘friends.’ However, Klara’s specific model, along with many others like her, is considered old and outdated. Meanwhile, the shopkeeper, played by Natasha Lyonne, remains hopeful that they will soon find someone to buy it and deliver it to the house. When Klara asks the store manager how to know when she’s found her family, Lyonne’s character tells her, “Just remember everything you’ve learned, and hope they love you like a family member or a family dog.”When Josie meets Klara, she wants to buy her, even though her mother doesn’t expect it. Klara goes home with Josie and acts like a child, because artificial friends are made with the intelligence of a child, as shared in the trailer. While Waititi directed the film, he also co-wrote the script with Dahvi Waller. You can watch the trailer here.
