Citroen recently launched the updated eC3X in India. This affordable electric crossover goes up against one of the best-selling EVs in the country, the Tata Punch EV. Here’s a closer look at how the two electric vehicles stack up on paper in terms of pricing, range, power specs, features and more.

The Citroen eC3X continues with a 29.2 kWh battery paired with a front electric motor that produces 57 PS and 143 Nm of torque. The company claims a driving range of up to 320 km with a full charge, while the top speed is rated at 107 km/h. The Tata Punch EV offers two battery options. The smaller 30 kWh battery offers a range of approximately 375 km, while the larger 40 kWh battery offers up to 468 km on a full charge. The long-term version also produces significantly more power, with output reaching 127 hp with the smaller unit pushing 87 hp and 154 Nm of torque.

The cabin of the eC3 X has been significantly updated with a new Blue Electric-themed dashboard that features leatherette trim, along with two-tone white leatherette seats with blue accents. It also gets a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, connected car technology with more than 40 functions, and electric self-folding ORVMs. The Punch EV, especially in higher trims, comes loaded with features like dual digital displays (10.25-inch each for the instrument cluster and infotainment system), ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone connectivity, connected car technology, a sunroof and a 360-degree camera.

The Citroen eC3X is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while buyers can also opt for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme that significantly reduces the upfront cost of the vehicle, starting at Rs 6.89 lakh plus Rs 2.26 per km for battery subscription.The Tata Punch EV starts at Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable entry point between the two lines. Tata is also offering a BaaS program on the Punch EV, with the range starting at Rs 6.49 lakh plus battery EMI of Rs 2.6 per km.
