After making his mark as a composer across Tamil and Telugu cinema, GV Prakash Kumar is all set to bag his first major Hindi film score with ‘Nayi Naveli’, a project backed by Aanand L Rai’s production house and helmed by Balaji Mohan. The musician, who is also AR Rahman’s nephew, opened up about scoring music for: Yami Gautam Dhar-starrer, the timeless beauty of lip-synced songs, and the rumors surrounding his remuneration.

He said, “I got a chance to work in ‘Gangs of Wassepur’ because Anurag Kashyap is a very good friend of mine. But this is not a perfect Hindi debut for me. As for ‘Nayi Naveli’ with the banner of Anand L Rai, I have composed all the songs. This is very interesting. I am confident that the songs will be beautiful. Yami Gautam came first. We all know how beautifully she expresses emotions. So, my songs are in safe hands. ‘Nayi Naveli,’ directed by Balaji Mohan, will be something to look forward to.

When asked if composing music for a Hindi film is different from working on a Tamil or Telugu project, Prakash Kumar quickly dismissed the idea of ​​any difference.
