More about the film and soundtrack:
The film’s sound track was created by composing icons and singers, Este Haim, Amanda Yamate, as well as music supervisor Season Kent, who wanted to make the film as sweeping and romantic as they could with the help of music. While talking to Netflix, the three weighed in on creating the music list that will go into the film, and what the process felt like for them. Yamate weighed in and shared that they were a good team, and brought a fair balance to the film’s sound with their own inputs. He added, “We listen back to some of the classic rom-coms to see how they balance themes – it is very fun to make a modern take on that. Leah is very open to us who are inspired by many needle drops. I study orchestral music. Este is a rock legend and comes in and plays bass and synths. We are a good team to deal with all those.”Kent, while talking about drawing inspirations from other romantic comedies said, “We had a lot of rom-com film scores in our heads as we were assembling the film and finding our tone and footing.Yamate also added that for the main essence of the film, “he tried to hit the heart and the tone of what it means to love your brother and possibly lose him. Este has siblings. I have a sister.
