Nitesh Tiwari‘s’Ramayana:continues to be one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema. Since its announcement, the ambitious project has generated a lot of buzz for its star-studded cast, grand scale and visual effects. Amid growing expectations, actor Ravi Dubeywho essays the role of Lakshman, shares his thoughts on the film and addresses the expectations surrounding it.Epic customization features: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. For Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman, the project marks his first lead role in a big cinematic venture.Ravi said in an interview to ANI, “Bharat aur Ramyana ek dusre se alag nahi hain (India and Ramayana are not different from each other). They are one. As for the preparation, we will talk about that later. Yeh hamara ithihaas hai dharohar hai (This is our history, our heritage), and the more we do it, the more we try to do justice to it within our abilities. It was an amazing experience.”Earlier this year, the makers unveiled the first look of the film, which introduced audiences to Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama and offered a sneak peek into the world of the epic. The teaser shows several battle sequences, glimpses of Ravana and the conflict against the asuras. While many viewers praised the scale and Ranbir’s transformation, others also raised concerns about the visual effects, sparking discussions online.Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for the next promotional asset, hoping to see more VFX refinements and a deeper look into the world of the film.When asked what the audience can expect from the project, Ravi offered a simple yet confident message. “We made the film with faith. You wait with faith.”Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, ‘Ramayana’ is envisioned as a two-part cinematic saga and ranks among the most ambitious projects ever undertaken in Indian cinema. Based on an ancient Indian epic, the story follows Lord Rama’s journey to rescue Sita after she is abducted by Lanka’s ruler Ravana, leading to an epic battle between good and evil.Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Ravi Dubey, the film also has Sunny Deol in the role of Hanuman.Adding to the scope of the project, the music was composed by an internationally recognized composer Hans Zimmer: along with AR Rahman. The first episode of ‘Ramayana’ is slated for a theatrical release during Diwali 2026, while the second part is expected to hit theaters in Diwali 2027.
