Rolling the cameras as a filmmaker, Stephen Chow is back with an action-comedy on the silver screen. ‘Kung Fu Soccer’ revolves around the Emei Women’s Football Team, who are ready to fight for the ‘Supreme Invincible Cup,’ according to Variety. Starring Zhang Xiaofei, Dilraba Dilmurat, and Lay Zhang Yixing, the film is open to the global market in various languages, including English, Japanese, Thai, Cantonese, Korean, and Mandarin. However, the release date is yet to be announced by the production team. “Most football shows ask, ‘Can they win the game?’ A movie by Stephen Chow asks, ‘Can they win the game while breaking the laws of physics?’ That’s the magic of ‘Kung Fu Soccer’ – a film that blends imagination, action, heart, and comedy in a way only Chow can,” the managing director of the production team, Joyce Lee, said in the statement, adding that the actor-director is one of the rare qualities that have entertained audiences across cultures for decades.
