Nina Dobrev and: Paul Wesley They may not be returning to Mystic Falls, but they are officially reuniting, years after the end of their hit teen drama ‘The Vampire Diaries’.The former co-stars who played the on-screen love interests will reunite for the upcoming thriller ‘You Deserve To Know’. The film, which is a new adaptation of the novel of the same name, sees Dobrev playing the role of Gwen, while Wesley stars as Scott. Both portray neighbors who find themselves on opposite sides of a murder investigation, putting them on a collision course as the mystery unfolds.According to Deadline, the film centers on three suburban couples who are not only next-door neighbors but best friends. Their seemingly perfect lives are turned upside down when one of the husbands is murdered, exposing a web of long-buried secrets that threaten to destroy their friendship.The news of the reunion comes shortly after Paul shared with People, “Nina and I have always thought about doing something together. So, maybe there’s a world where Nina and I can be together.At the time, teasing about a possible reunion sparked excitement among fans who have long cherished their relationship, both on and off screen.The reunion marks the first major project since joining ‘The Vampire Diaries’. Dobrev and Wesley starred opposite each other in the first six episodes of the show as Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore. The two play love interests until Dobrev’s character, Elena falls in love with Stefan’s brother, Damon Salvatore, played by Ian Somerhalder.Wesley stayed on the series for its entire eight seasons, while Dobrev returned for the show’s series finale.Nina and Paul stay busy with new projects. Dobrev recently starred in and produced the short film ‘General Admission’, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival. He will next be seen in the action thriller ‘The Get Out’ alongside Russell Crowe, Aaron Paul and Theresa Palmer. She is also set to star in executive produced ‘It Happened One Summer’, based on the romance novel of the same name, and the erotic thriller series ‘Night Float’.Meanwhile, Wesley recently wrapped a recurring role opposite Christina Hendricks in the upcoming third season of ‘The Buccaneers’. He also wrapped work on the fifth and final season of ‘Star Trek. Strange New Worlds’, where he portrayed the iconic James T Kirk.
