Chidambaram’s thriller film ‘Balan. The Boy’ continued its steady run at the box office on its first Sunday. The film witnessed healthy growth on Day 3 and recorded the best single day collection since the release. According to Sacnilk, the thriller earned Rs 3.00 crore nett on Sunday, registering a 27.7 percent jump over its Day 2 collection of Rs 2.35 crore.
The net collection in India reached Rs 7.17 crore
Balan. Boy’ has now collected Rs 7.17 crore nett at the Indian box office. The film’s total Indian collection stands at Rs 8.31 crore after three days in theatres.The thriller opened with Rs 1.82 crore nett on its first Friday. The collections rose to Rs 2.35 crore on Saturday before rising to Rs 3.00 crore on Sunday.The film recorded an occupancy of 28.7 percent on Day 1. It increased to 38.3 percent on Day 2 and further increased to 45.1 percent on Day 3.
The Malayalam version is driving the collections
Out of the Rs 3.00 crore net collection recorded on Sunday, the Malayalam version grossed Rs 2.90 crore. The language version also posted an impressive occupancy rate of 52 percent in 1,002 shows.The Tamil version earned Rs 5 lakhs while the Telugu version added Rs 4 lakhs. The Hindi version contributed Rs 1 lakh.The overall occupancy in Malayalam was at 54.05 percent on day 3. Morning shows recorded 29.25 percent occupancy. Afternoon performances increased by 60.08 percent. Evening shows witnessed the highest turnout at 64.42 percent. Night shows also remained steady with 52.75 percent occupancy.In 3 Days, Kerala generated Rs 2.65 crore gross. Karnataka follows with Rs 35 lakhs. Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 23 lakhs while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana added Rs 10 lakhs.
