The Karnataka State Police (KSP) has started the application process for the recruitment of 1,600 constables (CAR/DAR) posts across the state. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) portal from today (June 22, 2026).According to the official notification, a total of 1,421 vacancies have been announced in Karnataka General division and 179 vacancies have been announced in Karnataka Kalyan division.Candidates can submit the application form through the official website before the closing date of July 22, 2026.

This recruitment activity will fill 1,600 vacancies in the armed police police positions.

Eligibility criteria
Candidates who have passed Pre-University Course (PUC), Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution are eligible to apply.Applicants must have a qualifying exam score card on or before the last date for application submission. Candidates who are awaiting Class 12 or equivalent results are not eligible to apply.In addition to educational qualifications, candidates must have studied Kannada as first or second language at the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) level or should have passed the Kannada examination conducted by KEA.
age limit
As of July 22, 2026, the minimum age requirement is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 33 years.The state government also announced a one-time relaxation of the upper age limit for eligible candidates by five years.Veterans will receive an additional three years of relief beyond their military service.
Reservation for veterans
As per government regulations, 10% of the vacancies are reserved for direct recruitment of ex-servicemen.The benefit also applies to eligible dependent family members of a veteran who died in service or was permanently disabled while in service.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to the general category have to pay an application fee of Rs. 500. All other eligible candidates will be required to pay Rs 250.While the application form must be submitted by July 22, candidates can pay the fees before July 24, 2026.

Exam date and salary
The written examination will be conducted by KEA on September 6, 2026 from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon.As per government regulations, the monthly salary of candidates selected for the posts of Armed Police Constables ranges from Rs 37,500 to Rs 76,100.Applicants are advised to complete the registration process before the deadline and verify all details carefully before submitting the application form.
