Veteran actor Mammootty arrived in New Delhi ahead of the second phase of the Civil Investiture Ceremony for the Padma Awards 2026. The prestigious event is scheduled to take place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.The acclaimed Malayalam superstar is scheduled to receive the Padma Bhushan which is one of India’s highest civilian awards.

The family joined the actor in a special moment

Mammootty was accompanied by his wife Sulfath, daughter Surumi, and son Dulquer Salmaan.The Padma Bhushan was awarded to Mammootty for his long-standing contribution to Indian cinema and the arts.

Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 23

As reported by Asianet News, the award will be presented during the second Civil Investiture Ceremony for the Padma Awards 2026. The event is scheduled to be held on June 23, 2026, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.President Droupadi Murmu is expected to present the award during the official ceremony.Over the years he has received many prestigious awards, including the Padma Shri in 1998 and several National Film Awards for Best Actor.This year’s Padma Awards list also includes notable names like R. Madhavan and Alka Yagnik, who were honored for their contributions in their respective fields.

With a career spanning more than five decades, Mammootty has appeared in more than 400 films in several languages. His latest film is the actioner ‘Patriot’ in which he shared screen space with: Mohanlal after a long gap. The spy action flick is directed by: Mahesh Narayanan and it received good reviews from the audience. ‘Patriot’ is currently streaming on OTT and it also stars actors Nayanthara, Revathy, Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, and Darshana Rajendran in pivotal roles.Next, Mammootty will be seen in Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s film ‘Padayathra’.
