The Los Angeles Knight Riders continued their strong start to the 2026 Major League Cricket (MLC) season with an 81-run victory over the Seattle Orcas on Sunday. Jason Holder’s side have now won all their games in the six-team competition.Batting first, the Knight Riders posted 196 runs in their 20 overs, with contributions from several batsmen. Andre Fletcher led the way with 40 from 27 balls and added 58 runs for the first wicket with Colin Munro, who made 30 from 22 balls.Rowman Powell gave the innings a late boost with 37 runs from just 11 balls, while captain Holder chipped in with 23 from 14 balls.For the Seattle Orcas, Jasdeep Singh was the best bowler, picking up three wickets for 29 runs in four overs. Ottneil Baartman also took three wickets, finishing with figures of 3/36. Dasun Shanaka had a tough outing, conceding 59 runs in four overs at an economy rate of 14.75.The standout moment of the innings came from Powell, whose 11th knock included a six in a row from Shanaka. He was dismissed while trying to hit a sixth in a row and missed the match by a single over.In response, the Seattle Orcas failed to impress. Their openings were quickly removed, and the central structure was never found again. Several batsmen started, but none scored more than Harmeet Singh, who made 25 batting at number 8. His innings helped the team cross the 100-run mark.The Orcas were eventually bowled out for 115 in 15.3 overs.Knight Riders made good use of the available resources and backed up their bowling efforts with fielding support. Andre Russell and Corne van Schalkwyk picked up three wickets each, while Sunil Narine kept things tight with the ball.The result gives the Los Angeles Knight Riders their second win in as many games, while the Seattle Orcas are undefeated for the second time in three games.
