National testing agency (State Administration of Taxation) has announced that it is fully prepared to conduct the 2026 National Eligibility Test for Undergraduate Students (NEET UG) re-examination on June 21, 2026. The exam will be conducted in paper-and-pencil format from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm.Candidates with disabilities who are eligible for a makeup exam time will be allowed to take the exam until 6:20 p.m.According to NTA, the reexamination will be conducted in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad for over 22.79 lakh candidates.
Lots of arrangements and everything went smoothly.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the exam, the National Examinations Bureau mobilized more than 200,000 personnel across the country.These arrangements include:
- 674 city coordinators oversee city-level operations
- 6,669 observers deployed at exam centers
- Center supervisor and invigilator for each exam center
- Support from the district administration, police force and escort teams to ensure safe transportation of confidential materials
- Multiple layers of security measures in place
The agency has several security measures in place to ensure that the review process is fair and transparent.These include:
- Secure handling and transportation of confidential examination materials
- GPS-enabled vehicles, escorted by police, used to transport exam-related materials
- All exam centers have CCTV surveillance
- Mandatory body search before entering the exam center
- Aadhaar-based biometric authentication prevents impersonation
- Real-time monitoring through centralized control system
The NTA also said it is actively monitoring social media platforms to curb misinformation and inappropriate behaviour. Complaints have been lodged with cybercrime authorities including the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Center (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against those involved in spreading false information.
Special provisions regarding biometric verification issues
The NTA clarified that candidates will not be denied admission if biometric verification cannot be completed due to technical issues, poor fingerprint quality, connectivity issues or physical limitations.Such candidates must submit a written commitment and use valid documents for manual identity verification before they can take the exam.
Facilities provided at the exam center
The agency has directed all examination centers to provide necessary facilities to candidates including:
- Reliable backup power and generators
- Adequate lighting and fans
- Wall clock in the examination room
- drinking water and sanitation
- On-site medical support
Candidates may also carry clear water bottles. As per NTA guidelines, diabetic patients can carry sugar tablets and fruits like banana, apple or orange along with transparent water bottles.
Check-in time and admission guide
Candidates must report to the exam center between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm.The admission gate will be closed sharply at 1:30 pm, and candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination room under any circumstances after that.Candidates wearing traditional or religious clothing and long-sleeved clothing or woolen clothing are advised to arrive at the center early to complete the security check on time.
Bring documents
Candidates must bring the following materials to the examination center:
- Print a copy
NEET 2026 Admission ticket - An original copy of valid photo ID
- Two passport size photos for attendance
Candidates are also advised to verify the exact address of the exam center from their admit card and not rely solely on map apps.

NTA recommends candidates:
- Arrive at the test center before the check-in time
- Adhere to the prescribed dress code and exam guidelines
- Only bring allowed items
- Avoid believing rumors or unsubstantiated claims related to exam paper leaks
- Report suspicious messages or social media posts to authorities immediately
The agency reminds candidates that mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, wallets, jewelry, metal accessories and food packages are not allowed into the examination room.
