In a 2017 interview with Vulture, the famous director admitted that he indulged in David Fincher’s ‘Mindhunter’. He shared during the interview that it was one of the best shows he had ever seen and he also wanted to do something along its lines.He added, “I was there, 1 o’clock in the morning … click. This is a bedtime story! I love coming to Netflix and what it means to people like me. It suits me to the ground. I would love to do a ten hour mini-series myself, personally. [David] Fincher got the best show on the air today. “Praising the show’s creator, he quipped, “Fincher is like me, very anal, compulsive, but he’s very good, and that proves that audiences want good. They don’t want s***; they want good.”

In the same interview, the director added that he was fascinated by OTT platforms. He commented, “It’s like a slingshot, because they just want content and lots of it. Do they care much about quality? Not so much about it, and they have to watch that.
