Saibari beats Morocco after cold in Scotland
The victory happened shortly after the start. Morocco continued to press forward in the opening exchanges and caught the Scottish defense off guard with a quick move. Brahim DÃaz, one of the most impressive players in the Moroccan side, spotted a gap in the Scottish back line and controlled the ball which opened up the defence.Saibari timed his run perfectly and raced through the pass before calmly finding the back of the net to send the Moroccan fans inside Boston Stadium into celebration. Germany’s Felix Nmecha was second on the list after finding the net against Curaçao in five minutes and 16 seconds, while Paraguayan defender Damián Bobadilla against the United States took third place in six minutes and 12 seconds.

Who is Ismael Saibari?
As surprising as the goal was, it is the latest step in the rapid rise of Morocco’s most exciting talent.Saibari currently plays as a midfielder and forward for PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie. He arrived at the World Cup on the heels of an impressive 2025-26 campaign in which he scored 15 league goals, helped PSV to a third consecutive Dutch league title and won the Eredivisie Player of the Year award.The 25-year-old made his international debut in Morocco in 2023 and has quickly become a key figure for the Atlas Lions. Interestingly, Saibari was born in Spain and raised in Belgium, meaning he was eligible to represent multiple countries. Former Belgium manager Roberto MartÃnez is said to have approached him before the 2022 World Cup, but Saibari chose to represent Morocco.In the game against Scotland, Saibari has won 31 games and scored 10 goals for the Moroccan national team.
