Veteran action director Sham Kaushal opened up about the joy of becoming a grandfather, saying that baby Vihaan has changed his life and that the toddler is the spitting image of his father, Vicky Kaushal.

In a conversation with India Today, 70-year-old Sham Kaushal opened up about his relationship with grandson Vihaan, born to Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif: on November 7, 2025. The proud grandfather said that the child brought a new kind of happiness to his life.He said, “He changed my life. Whenever I’m busy with work and I can’t hug him physically, I video call him and talk to him. He’s very kind. I thank God as much as I can.”When asked if Vihaan followed Vicky or Katrina, Sham had a clear answer. He said, “I thought she looked like Vicky.”
Sham Kaushal calls himself blessed, credits his family
Sham Kaushal also reflected on how lucky he feels to have the family he has today. He said, “There are many parents in the world who are blessed by their children. I am one of them. I have never thought about all this. I have two good children, and my daughter-in-law is very good. I thank God.”
Sham Kaushal has no plans to retire
Despite his children urging him to slow down, Sham made it clear that he has no intention of giving up. “They keep telling me I’m going to stop working. But what am I going to do if I don’t work? I’ve been working since I was nine years old. What am I going to do after tea and breakfast?” he said laughing.He added that his relationship with work has changed over the years. He said, “Earlier, I was working without security. I had to take care of my family and my children.
