NEW DELHI: Sports Ministry officials met with the country’s sports body, current and former racing drivers and other stakeholders to discuss the revival and development of Formula 1 and motorsports in India. The Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida had last held the tournament in 2013. The government hopes to revive the sport and host another tournament in 2028.As a next step, the Ministry will set up a dedicated team to conduct a detailed analysis of the country’s fire service and assess the challenges associated with its growth.The mandate of the task force will be to assess the international, economic, tourism, and financial benefits of hosting major motoring events in India. It will also identify the most important needs, infrastructure needs, and operational needs necessary for the sustainable development of the sector and submit its recommendations to the Ministry of Sports.Based on the findings, a comprehensive policy framework will be developed to promote and promote motorsport in India. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said that he expects the group to share a report in three months and a plan to be established in six months.He also explained that the Ministry of Sports will look into taking fire sports in different parts of the country. While the Formula 1 race will focus on Greater Noida, other venues will also be explored for other races.
