Skoda Peak presented: 7-seater electric SUV with a range of up to 647 km!

Skoda has taken the wraps off its new flagship electric SUV, the Peaq. Positioned at the top of the brand’s EV lineup, the three-row electric SUV is set to compete with premium electric family models such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Volvo EX90 in global markets.

Skoda Peak: Design and dimensions

Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ electric vehicle platform, the Peaq measures 4,874mm in length, 1,867mm in width and 1,664mm in height, while its wheelbase is 2,965mm. It provides a boot of 299 liters with all the seats in place. Folding down the third row increases luggage capacity to 935 litres, while an additional 37-litre front luggage compartment adds extra storage space. The Peak follows Skoda’s latest Modern Solid Design philosophy. Up front, the SUV features a gloss black enclosed ‘Tech Deck’ panel instead of a traditional grille, flanked by T-shaped Matrix LED headlamps and a full-width lighting signature. Functional air vents have also been incorporated into the bumper to help cool the vehicle’s electrical components. Moving on to the rear, the SUV gets T-shaped LED tail lamps, a dual-tone bumper, a roof-mounted spoiler and a shark fin antenna. Facing door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheels are also part of the package.

Skoda Peak: Cabin and features

Inside, the Peak houses a 13.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system alongside a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a Skoda-branded two-spoke heated steering wheel. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, dual wireless smartphone chargers, USB charging ports in all three rows and a 16-speaker Sonos audio system. Skoda has also introduced a digital key function for the first time, allowing owners to lock and unlock the vehicle using a smartphone or smartwatch. Higher versions can also be equipped with a head-up display, massage front seats with power adjustable leg rests and folding tables for rear passengers.

Skoda Peak: Powertrain

Skoda offers the Peak in three variants. The entry-level Peaq 60 uses a 63 kWh battery pack paired with a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 204 hp. This version offers a driving range of 459 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The mid-spec Peaq 90 comes equipped with a larger 91 kWh battery pack and a more powerful rear-mounted engine producing 286 hp. It offers the highest claimed range in the line at 647 km and completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.1 seconds. At the top of the range is the Peaq 90x, which combines the 91 kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup. The system generates 299 hp, helping the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. It offers a claimed range of 613 km. All variants support fast charging, with the Peaq capable of accepting DC charging speeds of up to 199 kW.
