India’s white-ball tour of Ireland begins tomorrow, Friday, June 26, with a two-match T20I series at the Civil Service Cricket Club (Stormont) in Belfast. This tournament marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Indian side, with Shreyas Iyer to lead the team in T20Is for the first time. Why is the game starting earlier than usual?
Unlike India’s regular T20I start time of 7:00 PM IST, all matches in the Ireland series will start at 6:00 PM IST (1:30 PM local time). Cricket Ireland decided to bring the start time up by an hour to reduce the conflict with India’s all-important Women’s T20 World Cup match against Australia on June 28.
