Olivia Cooke talks about the age gap between mother and child
At first, Olivia Cooke was surprised after being introduced to the fact that a year younger than her would be her child. The 32-year-old currently plays mother to her 31-year-old co-star, Tom Glynn-Carney. In addition, Ewan Mitchell, 29, and Phia Saban, 27, are also his children in the popular series despite being a few years younger than him. Realizing the harsh reality, Cooke technically played the grandmother at a young age.
Olivia Cooke says, ‘They don’t want to see women grow old’
“When I found out that Tom Glynn-Carney auditioned for my son, I was like, ‘What? Are they going to bring Alicent back again?'” she said during an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. She continued to express her thoughts, “I think Tom and I are related. Strange, isn’t it? I feel many things about it. I was like, ‘God, is this the industry? Is it just Hollywood? They don’t want to see old women, you know?’ I think it’s a big leap for audiences to take. Or maybe I’m just an amazing actor.”‘House of the Dragon Season 3’ released on June 21, 2026, on JioHotstar, with weekly releases.
