Akshay Kumar often talks about how his wife, author and former actor Twinkle Khanna like chalk and cheese. They are very different from each other and the actor said that he is his harshest critic. The actor recently opened up about this while promoting his upcoming film ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, and revealed that no one’s opinion carries weight for him, like Twinkle’s opinion. Akshay was asked who has been the most honest critic of his work. Without missing a beat, he pointed to his wife and described her reviews as ruthlessly frank.“He is brutal. Brutal means brutal nothing. He can kill me anytime. You can’t say anything,” said Akshay laughing in an interview at the Bombay Times Lounge. The actor then shared a rare moment that made him especially happy. While dubbing for another project, he received an unexpected message from Twinkle thanking him for the trailer of one of his upcoming films.“I told Priyadarshan sir, ‘Today I am very happy.’ He asked me why, and I said, ‘My wife sent me a message saying she likes the trailer,'” shared Akshay.Akshay says compliments from his wife Twinkle are few and far between, which is why the message is so important to him. “These messages don’t come often,” admits Akshay. “I’ve done a lot of films, and when he looks at them, he goes straight to, ‘What is this?'”The candid confession drew laughter from the audience, with Akshay further explaining that Twinkle never wears her opinions, no matter how successful a film ends up being. Even if a film performs well at the box office, he still stands by his original assessment if he doesn’t like it.Over the years, Akshay and Twinkle have always given fans a glimpse of their relationship through interviews, public appearances and on social media, always displaying their trademark combination of honesty, humor and playful banter. On the work front, Akshay is gearing up for the release of ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, the latest installment of the popular ‘Welcome’ franchise.
