Priyanka Choprawho is in the middle of SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’ film shooting and preparing to start work on his next, made waves with his candid discussion of his Hollywood journey.The actress, who was a speaker at the Cannes Lions panel, sat down for a chat, where she talked about her ambitions to make it big in Hollywood and her willingness to create her own opportunities.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Chopra said, “I want to be true to myself in everything I do, but keeping people’s attention is a tough job, and you can only do it through evolution,” Chopra said.Addressing his hits and misses along the way, he said, “I can make mistakes, I’m human, I can’t get everything right. [When I started my career]I always strive for perfection. But over time, I realized the emotional connection [to fans] from saying, ‘I was wrong’… and I think it’s okay. That emotional connection with your audience comes from accepting that I am doing my best. “

Chopra also admits that rejection has always fueled her determination to make it big in the film industry. “I’m very ambitious, and if I say no to this, I want to do it more,” he said. “I’ve heard this from many fellow women. If you want to be together, and there is a mirror ceiling set for most women in the hobby, you have to do it yourself,” he added.
Priyanka Chopra to start a production company in Hollywood
Priyanka also shared the reason behind joining the production and prioritizing the films she is backing. He said, “When I came to America, I wanted more work, where I was the lead, which made me do parts that I don’t think many studios envision for an Indian actor.The actress also reflected on her own struggles and shared her motivation for starting a production house. He revealed, “When I came to the film industry, I didn’t know anyone… when new people come to film and TV, that’s my sweet spot. I want, as a production house, to be the shoulder of entertainers and creators to jump, because I created a platform and I know how difficult it is.”
