Imtiaz Ali:‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ turned out to be a success story at the box office, with strong word-of-mouth helping it overcome a slow start and build strong momentum in its first two weeks in theatres, eventually crossing the Rs 50 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film has entered its third week in theaters.

The love story set during the partition period opened to critical acclaim but struggled to make a big impact at the ticket windows in its opening weekend, earning an estimated Rs 12.25 crore in its first seven days. The second week, however, told a very different story, as audiences flocked in large numbers following strong word-of-mouth buzz.On the 15th day, the: Diljit Dosanjh starrer registered a growth of 21.2% in its previous day’s earnings. According to Sacnilk report, the film has collected Rs 2.85 crore in 1,952 screens. The total net collection in India now stands at Rs 37.65 crore, while the gross in India has reached Rs 44.85 crore.

On the international front, the film added Rs 25 lakh on Day 15, pushing the total overseas gross to Rs 13.80 crore. Combined with the domestic numbers, the worldwide gross collection of Main Vaapas Aaunga now stands at Rs 58.65 crore.
