The wicketkeeper-batsman remained unbeaten on 141 off 215 balls, an innings that included four fours and a six. He mixed caution with attacking strokes to keep India A in control.
Shaik Rasheed, who resumed on 53, added just 10 runs before falling to 63. The pair shared a valuable partnership that laid the foundation for India’s big total.
After Rasheed was dismissed, Harsh Dubey joined his captaincy and contributed a lot.
The all-rounder scored 30 off 51 balls, hitting two fours and a six, as he added 86 runs for the sixth wicket with Jurel before being dismissed by Chamika Gunasekara.
Gunasekara was the pick of the Sri Lanka A bowlers, picking up two more wickets on day two after removing Rasheed and Dubey.
India A started well with the ball as Anshul Kamboj and Yash Thakur reduced Sri Lanka A to 38/2.
Kamboj dismissed batsman and wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella for 10, while Thakur bowled Pawantha Weerasinghe for 11 to keep the players under pressure.
Sri Lanka A recovered through Nuwanidu Fernando and Ashen Bandara, who denied India A another chance.
Fernando remained unbeaten on 65 off 103 balls, hitting seven boundaries, while Bandara remained unbeaten on 18 at stumps.
The pair added an unbeaten 75 runs for the third wicket to take Sri Lanka A to 113/2 at the end of play.
India A entered Day 2 after finishing the opening day on 333/4, with Sai Sudharsan scoring 132. Jurel’s century helped the visitors extend their dominance before declaring on 452/6.
With a lead of 339 runs and Sri Lanka A still eight wickets down in their first innings, India A remain in control until the third day.
