In an interview with News18, Arshad Warsi made a surprising revelation about the casting of Circuit’s onscreen wife. The actor revealed that Maria Goretti, who later appeared in films like ‘Salaam Namaste’, ‘Raghu Romeo’, and ‘Jaane Hoga Kya’, was considered for the part.He said, “We also thought of calling Maria for this. Ghar ki murgi le aao! Raju ka beta, meri biwi – sab ko le aao, khada karo aur kaam pe laga do (laughter).”
Rajkumar Hirani talks about the nurse who became Circuit’s wife
In another little known trivia from the film, the actress who appears as Circuit’s wife in the photo actually played a nurse in the same film. Rajkumar Hirani, who was also part of the interview, explained how he was found and filmed on location, mainly due to budgetary constraints.He recalled, “Other actresses were charging money. We didn’t have a budget for it. We just needed someone for the photo. I saw this girl walking that night, and I asked my team who she was. They told me she was playing one of the nurses.”The director added, “I couldn’t recognize him because in uniform, he looked very different. I told them, ‘Yeh toh pehchaan mein bhi nahi aa rahi hai. Isko khada kar do yaar.’ We did not show any equation between Circuit and him in the film. For many years, people did not know who he was. In recent times they have connected the dots. “
