Looking back on her journey, Sonakshi admits that she is in no rush, adding that she is completely happy with life even though the right scripts will take time to come.

In the last few years, Sonakshi has been consciously drawn to characters with greater emotional depth. Whether portraying a fearless cop in ‘Dahaad’, a courtesan in ‘Heeramandi’, or a lawyer in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s ‘System’, the actor believes that his choices now reflect his own growth.In an interview with HT City, when asked if the shift to stronger female-led stories was intentional, Sonakshi replied, “One hundred percent. I think it just gets better and better with every project I choose because it now boils down to what gives me joy and satisfaction as an actor. There have been so many projects throughout my career and I’ve never been on such a unique journey. pleasing others or for many different reasons.”

The actor explained that his perspective on work has changed a lot over the years. Instead of signing projects just to stay busy, he now waits for stories that will truly inspire him. During the promotions of ‘System’, director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari compared Sonakshi to Hollywood legends Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet, a compliment that left the actor both amused and humbled.Recalling his reaction, Sonakshi said, “I called him and exclaimed, ‘You are putting so much pressure on me!’ But obviously, it’s amazing if your directors think that. Especially when you’re not trying to be someone, but you’re being compared to someone you love and admire a lot. These two actresses are phenomenal. For my director to call me that, I’m happy.”

Apart from work, Sonakshi revealed that the scorching weather has completely changed her wardrobe. Once known for favoring darker shades, he now prefers breathable fabrics and lighter colors to beat the heat.Talking about her style choices, she said, “Linens, cotton shirts, loose clothing. I think this summer season especially, it’s a necessity. It’s a necessity more than anything else. And even my color choices have changed because of this kind of heat and weather. I always wear black. Now I’m leaning towards pastels, and the blues and the whites are all out of my closet. I always wear black, but I guess this time you can’t.
