'Avengers. Endgame' is set for re-release with a new title 'Avengers: Endgame Encore'; to show more footage related to 'Doomsday'

With the clock ticking down to the release of ‘Avengers. Doomsday’, Marvel Studios has officially announced plans to bring back one of the biggest blockbusters – ‘Avengers. Endgame’ – on theater screens.

‘Avengers. Endgame’ to be re-released with a new title

After teasing a re-release last year and officially confirming plans to bring the film back to the big screen during CinemaCon 2026, ‘Endgame’ will be officially released this September as ‘Avengers. Endgame Encore’. According to a report by Deadline, the film will not only be released with a new title, but will also feature additional footage and a new post-credit scene, which is said to be the film’s ‘bridge’ to the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – ‘Avengers. Doomsday’.While the new title is only a minor change, the release is more than just a standard theatrical reissue. Marvel is reportedly presenting it as a theatrical event, designed to help set up the storylines for the next two films that will conclude the Multiverse Saga.

‘Avengers. Endgame’ connection with ‘Avengers. doomsday’

However, it is still unclear how the release will connect the events of ‘Endgame’ with ‘Doomsday’, considering that the MCU branched out significantly in the seven years between the two film releases. Many of the characters confirmed for ‘Doomsday’, including members of the Thunderbolts team, the Fantastic Four and returning characters from Fox’s X-Men universe, are not involved in the events of Endgame. However, many heroes like Steve Rogers aka Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, M’Baku and Shuri, who are expected to appear in ‘Doomsday’ will play an important role in defeating Thanos in the Endgame.

‘Avengers. Endgame’ to reveal the motive behind Doctor Doom’s wrath

The re-release may also re-examine the consequences of the ‘Avengers’ time-travel mission and the multiverse saga.‘Avengers. Endgame Encore’ can offer the audience a new perspective on how the Avengers snap Thanos’ undoing, which ultimately contributes to the multiversal crisis that is expected to cause Doctor Doom’s attack on the timelines and the multiverse. The report also noted that the film will be screened in theaters carrying Disney’s Infinity Vision certification, which verifies whether the theaters meet certain standards for screen size, sound quality and projection performance.‘Doomsday’ is set to hit the screens on December 18.
