Samantha Ruth Prabhu opened up about the impact of fame on his life and career, admitting that early success made him “egoistic” and too invested in the pursuit of stardom. Reflecting on his journey, the actor said that a health-related break finally helped him reassess his priorities and gain a new perspective on life.In an interview with Gulte, Samantha recalled how hard it was for a girl from a small town to suddenly experience so much fame and praise. He said the adulation he received in the early years of his career — with audiences cheering for him and calling his name — made him feel “addicted to the game of stardom.”The actor revealed that he once delivered five successful films in one year, causing many in the industry to describe him as having a “golden leg.” The tag, he admitted, came with heightened expectations and pressure to continue his streak of success.
“You have become too egotistical as an actor”
Speaking candidly about how success has affected her mindset, Samantha says she has reached a point where she believes her career will last forever.“You become so egotistical as an actor that you see no end; you refuse to see that there is an end,” he said.The actor shared that when he was forced to leave work due to health concerns, he was at the peak of his professional hustle, always looking for more projects and opportunities. The unexpected stop, however, became a turning point.According to Samantha, the break allowed her to recognize that a career can have limits, a realization that changed her outlook on work and life. He added that at that time, he promised himself that if he returned to acting, he would leave behind some old habits and patterns.
A health break brings a change of perspective
The 39-year-old actor said the time away from the spotlight has given him the opportunity to reflect on what really matters. This helped him break away from the relentless pursuit of success and approach his career with a healthier mindset.Samantha has previously spoken about her battle with the autoimmune condition myositis, which prompted her to take a break from acting and focus on recovery.
