Melanie Sykes shared a heartwarming selfie on Instagram on June 28, wearing a white tank top and a wide smile. The ‘Shop Well For Less’ star captioned the post, “Loss + Gain = Life,” adding The Dualers’ song ‘Got That Smile.’ While she has previously opened up about severe hair fall, she shared a hair-free post.In the past, Sykes shared that she tried different wigs because the hair loss became severe over time. “As much as I love using my head scarves, I can’t wait to get some hair,” she wrote in a post on May 13, 2026, before adding, “My hair has been coming out so fast for the past few weeks and even at this stage (losing hair for almost a year and a half) it’s scary.

Melanie Sykes initially opened up about her diagnosis last year, detailing pain and recovery treatments. “I have an autoimmune condition, I’m losing my hair, I keep having crazy inflammation all over, and I’m working on healing,” she said, and continued, “For the last three months, I’ve done a meditation teacher training course.” Speaking about hair loss, the presenter stated, “I’m two-thirds bald, really. Every time I say I’m bald, I laugh, I don’t know why… Thank god I can laugh.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss anywhere on the body. It usually affects the hair on the skin covering the head (scalp). Medicines and therapies can help regrow hair, but severe cases may not respond to treatment.
