‘Alpha’, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has received a UA 16+ certificate from the CBFC, with a runtime of 140 minutes. The synopsis reveals that Alia plays Sita, a character driven by revenge. The film, which also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor, released worldwide on July 3, marking Alia’s first full-fledged action role.

Just days away from its big screen debut, ‘Alpha’ ticks one of the last boxes before release. The: Alia Bhatt: and Sharvari starrer has been given its censor certificate, giving viewers a better sense of what’s in store when the action thriller hits theaters this week.

Alia Bhatt’s ‘Alpha’ gets UA 16+ certificate

According to a News18 report, ‘Alpha’, directed by Shiv Rawail, has received a UA 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film is set to release in theaters worldwide on July 3 and marks Alia’s first full-fledged action role. The CBFC listing also revealed the film’s runtime, confirming that ‘Alpha’ will clock in at 140 minutes, or 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Apart from giving the certification, the CBFC website also shared the official synopsis of the film, giving fans a sneak peek of Alia’s character, Sita. It reads, “Driven by revenge, a young woman destroys anyone in her path until her journey reveals the hidden truths of her own life. She is brave, cold, and willing to cross any line, hurting anyone who gets in her way.”

Featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as the leads, the film also saw: Bobby Deol and: Anil Kapoor: taking important papers. It is the seventh entry in the Spy Universe and the fourth standalone film in the franchise, following in the footsteps of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, ‘Pathaan’, ‘Tiger 3’, and ‘War 2’. With ‘Alpha’, the franchise welcomed Alia as its first female spy.
