Abhishek Bachchan made his debut in JP Dutta’s ‘Refugee’ in 2000, along with: Kareena Kapoor: Khan: Since then, the actor has come a long way, right from giving a string of flops to making a path-breaking film like ‘Guru’. Since the last few years, there has been a huge change in terms of Bachchan’s choices and how he is perceived. Be ‘Breathe. Into The Shadows’ or ‘Ghoomer’, ‘I Want To Talk’ or ‘Dasvi’. As Abhishek completes 26 years in the industry today, when asked about his transformation as an actor, he said in an interview to ETimes, “The only thing that has changed is that I am more comfortable. I think when I started, there was a little discomfort. But now, I’m more comfortable in front of the camera.” He added, “When you are yourself and comfortable in your skin, that gives you clarity in the decisions you have to make. I am very clear now, or I would say in the last five to seven years, what I did not want to do at that point of time. At the beginning of your career there is such excitement, there is such uncertainty about kaam milega, whatever comes in your mileage.” Abhishek says he is very clear about the kind of work he wants to do now. “I was clear at that point in time, at this point I don’t want to do it. That means I really want to do it. So, there’s a lot more conviction in that and that comes from a certain maturity and calmness. I think that also helps your work. We’re not all over the place, I want to believe.” When further asked about not having any sense of insecurity, he said, “I have never been an insecure actor in terms of yeh kya kar raha hai. Insecure about my capabilities, yes. I think all actors.. are about, ‘Can I do it?'” Abhishek also added that the responsibility of how an actor performs is on the director. During this throwback interview, the actor was also joined by Shoojit Sircar and when asked if he thought Abhishek did justice to his role in ‘I Want To Talk’, the actor quipped, “This is tricky, you can’t ask him that.” He added, “You can’t ask him, because he’s the one who okays the take. Not me. The actors get the brickbats but the director is always the one who’s wrong (laughs). He’s the one who decides if that’s enough.” On the work front, Abhishek is currently shooting for: Shah Rukh Khan‘King’. The actor was recently spotted at the airport with: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya as they head out on the town.
