Sleep peacefully after a lifetime of tireless work.” He further appealed, “I request the government to build a memorial for Bharathiraja at this place.His heartfelt appeal has sparked conversations about honoring one of Tamil cinema’s greatest filmmakers with a lasting tribute.

In his emotional note, Vairamuthu spoke about Bharathiraja’s remarkable contribution to the Tamil film industry and the great void created after his demise. He called the late director a visionary whose creativity made a mark in filmmaking by bringing rural life from Tamil Nadu to the world through films. The lyricist, while mourning the loss of Bharathiraja, says that the “chariot of art” has lost its guiding horses.
