Actor and ad filmmaker Prakash Varma has officially announced the release date of his upcoming Malayalam film ‘Law and Order’. Sharing the new poster on Wednesday night, the actor confirmed that: Ranjith: The directorial will hit theaters worldwide on July 24. Written by acclaimed screenwriter Udaykrishna, the film is expected to be a commercial entertainer centered around the clash between the law enforcers and the criminal underworld.
Prakash Varma continues his acting journey
After garnering widespread acclaim for his acting debut in Tharun Moorthy’s blockbuster ‘Thudarum’, Prakash Varma is all set to return to the big screen with another prominent role. His portrayal of the strict police officer George is opposite Mohanlal was widely appreciated, with many calling his casting one of the film’s biggest surprises.With ‘Law and Order’, the actor looks to build on the momentum created by his successful debut.
Mammootty returns to an iconic character
One of the biggest highlights of ‘Law and Order’ is Mammootty’s special appearance as Karikkamuri Shanmughan, a character that audiences first met in the 2004 action thriller ‘Black’. Ranjith and Udaykrishna are working together for the first time
“Law and Order” marks the first creative partnership between director Ranjith and writer Udaykrishna. The project, however, also gained attention after Ranjith was arrested on allegations of sexual harassment during the making of the film.Backed by Premachandran AG and Mahasubair under the banners Satyam Cinemas and Mahasubair Moviekshetra, the film features cinematography by Prashanth Raveendran, editing by Manoj Kannoth, background score by Bijibal and songs composed by Joe Daniel. The makers have pitched the film as a high-octane action entertainer full of crime, investigation and intense confrontations.
