India men’s hockey team head coach Craig Fulton believes his team can beat any team in the world if they stick to their goals, saying their performance in the FIH Pro League finals has given the team confidence ahead of the World Cup and the players. We’ve been calm under pressure, we’ve adapted to different styles of play and produced victories in tight games. That kind of experience is what we need.“The World Cup and the Asian Games will test our courage and our belief, and I think we are building the right foundation,” Fulton said in a Hockey India release.India’s campaign got off to a rough start at home in Rourkela, where they lost to Belgium and Argentina.There were signs of improvement in Hobart’s leg. India started with a 0-2 loss against Spain before drawing 2-2 with hosts Australia and 1-1 with Spain. They lost both matches in a shootout but ended the leg with a 3–1 victory in Australia after a 1–1 draw.The Hobart game also featured defensive changes. India have scored just six goals in four matches, three from penalty corners and three from play. He also scored two goals and converted two penalty corners.The group’s progress was most evident on the European circuit.In Rotterdam, India beat Germany 3-1 and Netherlands 3-2.
