The Indian Air Force has announced the courses for AFCAT 02/2026, NCC Special Admission and GATE Score Admission Scheme scheduled to start in July 2027. Applications are open for both male and female candidates for admission to the Flying Branch and Ground Duty Branch (both technical and non-technical streams).The notice was released on May 20, 2026, and the online registration process began on the same day. Under the extended timeline, the last date to submit applications is today, June 21, 2026. Eligible candidates can complete the application process through the official AFCAT portal.Recruitment covers multiple onboarding programsRecruitment activities include AFCAT Entry, NCC Special Entry and GATE Score Entry. Appointments will be offered under permanent commission and short service commission categories depending on the branch and route of entry.According to the notification, a total of 379 vacancies have been announced. Selected candidates will begin the course in July 2027. We are recruiting for the Flight Department, Ground Operations Technical Department and Ground Operations Non-Technical Department.The pay scale of officers is Grade 10 ranging from Rs. 56,100 Rs 1,77,500.Eligibility and age criteriaCandidates applying for the flying branch must be between the age of 20 and 24 years. For ground watch technicians and ground watch non-technical personnel, the prescribed age limit is 20 to 26 years.The deadline to determine age eligibility is July 1, 2027. Where applicable, age relaxation will be done as per the rules specified in the notification.For educational qualification, candidates applying through AFCAT must possess a postgraduate degree or a degree in a related discipline. Applicants for technical department posts must hold B.Tech qualification in the relevant field.Application fee and selection stageCandidates applying through AFCAT Entry need to pay an application fee of Rs.100. 550 plus consumption tax. NCC special admission and GATE score admission candidates do not need to pay application fee.The selection process includes a written examination, Air Force Selection Board evaluation, document verification and a physical examination. The notice stated that recruitment will be conducted strictly in accordance with the principles of fairness and merit.Candidates appearing for the Air Force Selection Board for the first time will be eligible for travel allowance as per the regulations mentioned in the official notification.
