NEET 2026 today: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued final recommendations for candidates appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026 or NEET UG 2026, which is scheduled to be held today at centers across India and overseas. The agency highlighted key registration times, required documents and test day instructions for more than 2.2 million candidates taking the physical exam.In a message posted on X ahead of the exam, the NTA urged candidates to remain calm and reach the exam center on time. The agency reminded candidates that exam day marks the culmination of months of preparation and advised them to follow all prescribed guidelines.Candidate Registration TimetableAccording to NTA, the admission time to the exam center is 11:00 am. The last admission time is 1:30 pm, after which no candidates will be allowed to enter the examination room. Candidates are advised to consider possible transportation delays and arrive at the test center early.The agency also asked candidates to stay hydrated and ensure they did not bring any prohibited items into the testing venue.Required documents and photosCandidates must bring their admission ticket and valid photo ID to the exam center for verification. The NTA has also directed candidates to carry two passport size photographs.The advisory is part of a wider set of arrangements announced by the agency to conduct NEET UG 2026 at 5,440 centers in 551 cities in India and 14 centers abroad. The exam is conducted in English and 12 Indian languages.Security and surveillance measures in placeAs detailed in a press release issued by NTA, more than 95,000 examination centers have been equipped with CCTV coverage. A total of 1,38,560 CCTV cameras and 51,311 jammers have been deployed to enhance exam security.Around 6,700 observers are stationed at the centre, while more than 100 virtual observers are monitoring live CCTV. Candidate verification was supported by 38,795 body search officers and 48,448 biometric officers, and face verification was also used.Facilities provided by the centerIn coordination with the state authorities, the centers are equipped with drinking water facilities, oral rehydration solutions, ambulances and shaded waiting areas for parents. Each exam room is also equipped with a wall clock and extra rough homework pages for candidates.The NTA advises candidates and parents to rely only on official communications and ignore unsubstantiated claims circulating online.
