He described Dharman as a family-focused thriller that carries strong entertainment elements.As reported by India Today, he also rubbished early speculation suggesting that the film would be based on the “5 Rupees Doctor” concept. Instead, he indicated that the story was built around a larger-than-life character set in a commercial cinematic setup.
Blending mass appeal and investigative style
Ashwath further explained that ‘Dharman’ will combine mass storytelling with elements of investigative drama. He compared the tone of the film to two famous Tamil films.The film is expected to feature a strong hero driven story while also mixing in thriller based sequences.According to the director, Rajinikanth is not playing a character based on the widely talked about “5 Rupees Doctor” real-life inspiration.
