NEST Result 2026: The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the Center of Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Department of Atomic Energy, University of Mumbai have announced the results of the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2026. The results will be announced through the NEST official portal on June 24, 2026 at 4 pm.Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results by logging in with their application number or user ID and password. The authority also confirmed that the NEST 2026 scorecard will be available for download on June 30 at 2 pm through the official website nestexam.in.How Candidates Get ResultsTo check the NEST 2026 results, candidates need to visit the official website and click on the login link. Candidates can view their results online after entering the required credentials including application number or user ID and password. The scorecard download link will be activated on the portal on June 30.Basics of NEST result preparationThe NEST results are prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the best performing sections in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Examination bodies will consider performance in these bands when calculating a candidate’s final grade.The process after the admission result is outNISER and CEBS will publish the NEST 2026 consultation schedule online after the results are announced. Candidates who pass the examination will be eligible for the counseling process.These institutions will also publish a merit list. Candidates who enter the merit-based admission list must report to the campus where they are located and go through admission-related procedures.Announcement of minimum acceptable scores for each sectionIndividual Minimum Acceptable Scores (SAMS) for all categories have been published. In Biology, the SAMS for UR candidates was 8.83, OBC candidates 7.95 and SC/ST candidates 4.41. In chemistry, the corresponding scores are 11.26, 10.14 and 5.63.For Mathematics, the minimum admission marks are 9.63 for UR, 8.67 for OBC and 4.82 for SC/ST category. In Physics, the SAMS for UR candidates was 9.44, OBC candidates 8.49 and SC/ST candidates 4.72. Separate acceptable marks are also specified for different categories of Divyang candidates.Expected score and ranking range for ST categoryBased on the expected marks and ranking data for ST categories, candidates who score between 120 and 80 points are likely to get a ranking between 1 and 10 points. Candidates who score between 80 and 65 points are expected to fall into the ranking range of 11 to 50 points.
