John Oliver has confirmed that he will appear on ‘General Hospital’ for three episodes in the first week of July.

Emmy-winning host and executive producer John Oliver landed a role on the long-running American soap opera General Hospital. Months after launching a ridiculous campaign to score a part on the show, his wish has officially come true, with his appearance confirmed for episodes to be aired in July.

John Oliver confirmed on the June 28 episode of his show that he will appear on General Hospital. Following the announcement, she shared a statement that read, “General Hospital is everything I hoped it would be.The comedian will appear in three episodes of General Hospital, which is set to air July 2, 3 and 6 on ABC.According to PEOPLE, citing a press release, Oliver landed the three-episode role after a public campaign for an episode of the show in March. General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini said in the release, “When John Oliver publicly threw down the gauntlet and said he wanted to appear on a soap, we didn’t hesitate for a second. He plays an important character in the story, and I can’t wait for fans to see who he crosses paths with in Port Charles.

Oliver made the request during the March 8 episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Talking about her admiration for General Hospital, she joked that she was lobbying for a “juicy” role in the long-running daytime drama.General Hospital is one of the longest running soap operas in American television history and has been on the air for over six decades. The series airs on ABC and is also available to stream on Hulu. Over the years, it has won 18 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Daytime Drama.
