After the controversy, Hollywood boycotted Spacey for the time being; however, the actor is set to return. In a recent interview, Spacey opened up about the allegations and how he feels about returning to the industry.

While talking to: Bill Maher on the ‘Club Random’ podcast, Spacey weighed in on the sexual assault cases reported against him, and how they derailed his Hollywood career at the time. After a short period of time where he didn’t see any new projects due to the controversy, Spacey said he looks like he’ll be out in the fall.He shared, “I feel very welcome, and I think that things are moving in the direction we hope they will move.” Regarding the alleged assault charges filed against him, the actor disclosed that the court found in his favor on almost all counts when they appeared before the jury. He added, “There are certain cases where part of something is true, but it’s been rethought, it’s been redesigned, or it’s been completely fabricated, certainly in the case of Anthony Rapp, which is a case that we won in federal court in New York.

Anthony Rapp’s allegations about how the actor assaulted him when he was a teenager are the first of many lawsuits to emerge against him. During the interview, when Maher asked him about the matter and how many cases there were, Spacey admitted that there were times when he crossed the line. He added, “I never said there is no fire. It’s not just a raging forest fire. It’s a small kitchen fire that can be put out with a fire extinguisher.Additionally, he shared that he “paid dearly” for his actions over the past 9 to 10 years. “When people start listening to the facts, understand what we won in the courts, I think people now look at it and think, maybe nine years is enough”, he further explained.Over the years, when the allegations came to light, the actor faced many repercussions in the industry. It also included being fired from two of his biggest projects, ‘House of Cards’ and ‘All the Money in the World.’ He also lost other opportunities and even lost his home.
