Salman Khan is reportedly moving out of Galaxy Apartments, where his family has lived since 1974. The MCZMA gave clearance on June 16 to build a six-storey sea-facing bungalow in Bandra’s Chimbai area. The move is said to be linked to repeated threats from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.

For more than five decades, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, has held a very special place in the hearts of the Khan family. Salim Khanthe legendary screenwriter behind Sholay, moved into the first floor of the building in 1974 with his wife Salma Khan: and their five children. Over the years, most of the children have flown the nest and settled elsewhere, but Salman chose to stay and continues to live there with his parents to this day. But change is on the horizon for the family. A recent report revealed that Salman is currently building a beautiful six-storey sea-facing independent bungalow that will serve as the family’s new home in the near future.

Salman Khan:The new bungalow has got official clearance

According to Hindustan Times, the: Maharashtra: The Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) gave the Khan family the green light on June 16 to build a residential tower in Chimbai, Bandra, a location just a stone’s throw from their current home in Galaxy Apartments. The report further revealed that the plot where the new property was purchased in 2011 by Salman’s mother, Salma, also known as Sushila Charak.

Lawrence Bishnoi The gang’s threats pushed Salman Khan into action

The decision to move to a new house is said to be connected to the threats Salman has received Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The situation worsened in 2024 when four bullets were fired at the Galaxy Apartments, after which the family had to seal the famous balcony that fans have always loved. The new bungalow is said to have better security arrangements to keep the family safe.

The story behind Salman Khan’s new plot in Bandra:

The land that Salma bought originally belonged to Mary Clotilda Baptista and changed hands several times before it was finally bought by the Khan family in 2011. The property had a two-story bungalow on top of it, but since the structure fell into a bad state over the years, the family decided to demolish it.

Salman Khan is yet to confirm the news; here is the next on the work front

Neither Salman nor any of his family members have responded or confirmed the news so far. On the professional front, Salman has finished shooting for ‘Maatrubhumi. May War Rest in Peace’, although a release date for the film is yet to be announced. He is currently busy shooting for ‘SVC 63’, which also stars Nayanthara.
