In one of her latest videos, the actress and her husband, an actor Samir Sonilooked back at the early days of their romance and revealed a fun detail about their first date — one that never led to a second outing in years.During a lunch date shown on his channel, Samir asks Neelam if she remembers their first date. Laughing, he replied, “Yes, I remember. I will never forget it. You say, I want to see if you remember.”Samir then recalled the memorable encounter, saying, “I remember it very well. I don’t remember which coffee shop we went to. When we got there, I panicked and was drenched in sweat. We were drinking coffee, so I asked you if we could sit in the car.” You made me so nervous on our first date itself.”Neelam went on to reveal that despite eventually tying the knot, the couple only went on one proper date before their recent outing. “Sameer and I only went on one date. We went on a date once, and this is the second one. Yes, we went together with Ahana (son) and it was okay, but our romantic dinner date only happened once,” he shared.Joining in, Samir added with a smile, “He used to only talk on the phone for about three months, and then I asked him to meet at least.”Earlier, Samir told how his relationship with Neelam started. Appearing on Ujjawal Trivedi’s YouTube channel in 2024, he revealed that a tarot card reader once predicted that the woman he would eventually marry would have a name beginning with the letter N and was related to jewelry.“I met a tarot card reader. I don’t know if he was paid. That person told me there was a woman in my life whose name started with an N and she worked in jewelry,” he recalled.The description immediately made him think of Neelam, though he dismissed it at the time as unlikely coincidence.Reflecting on his admiration for her, Samir said, “In her time, and she is still, one of the most beautiful actresses.Fate eventually brought them together again at a Diwali party almost a year and a half later. There Samir confides to producer Ektaa Kapoor that he is interested in Neelam. “Ekta introduced us,” she said, adding, “I told Neelam that I don’t usually say this, but I think you’re so cute. Then I said I’ll call you and I left. I didn’t even have her number.”Samir revealed that similar interactions happened several times before he gathered the courage to call her three years later. Recounting the moment, she said, “I asked myself, why did I do this? I just had to talk to him. I called him but he didn’t pick up. It was 3 in the morning. The next morning, my ego kicked in, and I texted him. ‘You don’t believe in returning calls,’ and he texted back, ‘How do I know it’s you?'”When they started spending time together, both were sure about the future of their relationship. “If we get together, we’ll get married, that’s how we see each other from the beginning,” shared Samir.Neelam Kothari and Samir Soni got married in 2011 and later welcomed their daughter, Ahana Soni, in September 2013.
