“I can’t tell you how confusing it is.” ‘Mirzapur. The Movie star Shweta Tripathi says that returning to the original Golu feels very emotional

The makers of ‘Mirzapur. The Movie’ just unveiled the film’s first teaser, confirming that the beloved crime saga is making its leap from streaming to the big screen. Set to hit theaters on September 4, the film reunites iconic characters like Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu:Munna and Golu Gupta, promises fans another exciting chapter in the ‘Mirzapur’ universe. For actors: Shweta Tripathi:however, stepping back into Golu’s shoes comes with an unexpected challenge. While the excitement of returning to the franchise remains undiminished, revisiting the innocent version of her character from Season 1 after nearly a decade has proven to be emotionally jarring.

Changing Golu’s past is not easy

Talking to India Today about the transition from web series to cinema, Shweta revealed that the shooting process itself was not much different from filming the previous seasons of the show. According to him, the performance and pace remain unchanged despite the transfer to the big screen.“It’s not fast. In fact, filming takes as much time as it should. So in terms of acting or performance, it’s no different.”The real challenge, he explained, was to travel back in time to portray a version of Golu that had not experienced the devastating events that had changed him over the years. After spending three seasons portraying a revenge-driven Golu, Shweta admits that returning to the happy, carefree young woman from Season 1 initially felt overwhelming.“I have spent many years with a sense of revenge and disappointment. Sweety is gone, and Bablu is dead; all his dreams have been seized. And now suddenly, Sweety is standing in front of you, and Bablu is here. Guddu is back to what he was… and not how Golu felt about him last time.”The actor admitted that the emotional reset did not happen overnight. “Day one, I won’t tell you how confusing it was. I didn’t understand. I was confused because I didn’t know… In season one, Golu was a different woman. For Shweta, it was less about remembering dialogues and more about reconnecting with a version of Golu that existed before grief, loss and revenge shaped her personality.
