What is creativity like when Ayaan Agnihotri works with Salman Khan?
In a conversation with News18, Ayaan was asked about the creative dynamic when working with Salman and whether the uncle-nephew relationship takes a backseat once the cameras roll or whether it adds something special to the process. He said, “It’s a mix of both. Mamu is very particular when it comes to work. He expects you to get everything done. He will not fly around you. He will tell you, ‘This is what you have to do. This is what you need to do it. Now go ahead and do it.’ So in many ways, it’s nice to know that at that point, it’s just work. What must happen must happen. After that, of course, there is the nurturing and teaching element that comes. “He added, “But at the same time, he never hovers. He’s very clear that you have to do it first. Once you’re done with it, he tells you what he’s going to say about it. But he doesn’t come in and do that part for you. It’s like, ‘This is the beat. You know it. You write it. You know it with Vishal.’ Or, ‘This is what I shot. This is the director. Now go and think how you can get your share.’ So basically, he said, ‘Go and do it yourself. He will not help you at that stage, because that is your journey and your responsibility. But after that, he always gives his guidance. ”
How did Ayaan Agnihotri deal with the nepotism tag and outside views?
When asked about growing up in a family full of artists and how he relates to: Salim Khan and Salman helps her separate real family support from outside perceptions, and if that clarity changes the way she presents herself as Agni, Ayaan gives a strong and refreshingly honest response. He makes it clear that the way things look from the outside is very different from what the inside actually feels like. He said, “It’s a very different way of looking at it from the inside. For us, it’s mamu and nana. That is the basic family situation for us. We cannot look at it from the inside out. The relevance of relationships is not based on social media counters or anything like that. Family is family. A unit is as close as a family first. Whatever happens outside is not what we see at home. Ghar ke liye, it’s just family.”
