In an earlier appearance of the director-choreographer: Farah KhanTere Mere Beach Mein’s chat show, the superstar shared a funny story of how Gauri tricked him into buying himself a handbag while he was recovering in the hospital.During the conversation, Farah Khan praised Shah Rukh, saying, “I know you are a generous husband and you have given many gifts to Gauri.”Responding with a smile, Shah Rukh revealed that even though he has gifted Gauri many things over the years, she always trades them for something she likes more.“Whenever I give Gauri something, she accepts it. But 99.9% of the time, she returns it and buys something else instead,” he shared.Recalling a memorable incident, Shah Rukh said it happened while he was undergoing treatment in London after suffering a spinal injury.“I suffered a spinal injury and had to stay in London for one and a half to two months. I bought some T-shirts from a store, but after wearing them, I felt they were not suitable.However, when Gauri returns, she tells him that the shop has refused to take back the T-shirts.
‘Why does she need new clothes?’
The truth came out when some of Shah Rukh’s friends visited him in the hospital and mentioned that they saw Gauri in the shop exchanging T-shirts.Instead of buying new clothes for her husband, she bought a bag.Laughing about the incident, Shah Rukh recalls Gauri’s reasoning, “She is in the hospital. Why does she need to wear a new dress?”The light-hearted story left Farah Khan and the audience in splits, giving fans another look at the couple’s fun relationship.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s King, marking his first on-screen collaboration with daughter Suhana Khan.The makers recently announced that the action entertainer will hit the theaters on December 24, 2026, writing on social media, “#KING is Ready to ROAR on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas. #ItsKingTime #KingDateAnnouncement.”Apart from Shah Rukh and Suhana, King also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Arshad Warsi in important roles.
