New Delhi: Will 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi wear the Indian jersey today? This is the big question ahead of the first T20I against England at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street, Durham.The youngster has been one of the main talking points ahead of the five games, as well as the England captain Harry Brook was asked about him in a press conference before the event.
England is ready with a strategy
Although India have not confirmed whether Sooryavanshi will be part of the playing XI, England have already prepared to meet the young batting sensation.Brook said his team has done a lot of homework on the opening game at left tackle.“We have our strategies and we hope they work,” Brook said on the eve of the opening game.He added that England has thoroughly researched the Indian players to find ways to silence them.“There’s been a lot of digging behind the scenes to see what we can do to try and stop them from playing their best cricket,” he added.

India begin a five-match T20I series against three world champions in England on Wednesday, with all eyes on whether Sooryavanshi will pick up his first international cap.The youngster invited his maiden to India after an exciting IPL season. He finished as the top scorer in the tournament, and scored 776 runs at an amazing rate of over 230. His performance also earned him the Most Valuable Player and Emerging Player award.If Sooryavanshi makes his debut, he will become India’s first international, breaking the previous record achieved by Sachin Tendulkar for India at the age of 16.
