Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the Uttarakhand Minorities Education Bill will come into effect in Uttarakhand from Wednesday (July 1). So far, the Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board has been completely dissolved on July 1. In a post on X, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote: “Today, the ‘Uttarakhand Minorities Education Bill’ has come into effect. At the same time, the Madrasa Education Board Act and the Rules for Accreditation of Non-Governmental Arab-Persian Madrassas were also repealed. ” Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dhami said the BJP government is committed to establishing an education system in the state that is “modern, transparent, high-quality, accountable and rooted in nation-building values”. “The new system will ensure a fair and transparent accreditation process for all minority educational institutions,” he said. “Our resolve is clear: the youth of the state, supported by modern education, science, technology, skills and Indian values of life, will play a meaningful role in building Uttarakhand and Bharat. With this goal in mind, we will move forward relentlessly,” the chief minister added.As of Wednesday, the state has established a new state minority education bureau. Minority educational institutions in Uttarakhand have undergone major educational reforms; notably, students studying there will now receive NCERT curriculum-based textbooks.The Dhami government has set up the Uttarakhand Minority Education Department. Professor Surjit Singh Gandhi was appointed as Chairman of the Authority; besides, eminent scholars and professors from various minority communities were also included as members. The members include Prof. Rakesh Kumar Jain, Dr. Syed Ali Hamid, Prof. Pema Tenzing, Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Dr. Elba Mandrele, Prof. Robin Aman, Chandrashekhar Bhatt and Rajendra Singh Bisht.Director School Education and Director SCERT have been appointed as ex-officio members and Director Minority Welfare will serve as ex-officio secretary.
