Vijay:‘Jana Nayagan”s film has been in limbo since its official release date in January. Recently, reports say that the film has received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, another report has clarified that these claims are not true.
‘A’ certificate reports are speculative
According to the latest update of India Today, the film is yet to receive the censor clearance. The CBFC decision makers are still waiting and the process is expected to be completed by next week. The report further states that the buzz about the movie receiving an A rating is just speculation. The team will hopefully get the certificate and share the release date accordingly.

Earlier according to NDTV, reports said that the film has been given an A certificate with some cuts. It is also reported that the final certificate will be issued next week. However, the manufacturers are now denying the claims.According to reports, the team is planning to release ‘Jana Nayagan’ on July 16. If that date is not possible, July 23 is reportedly being considered as another option. There are also discussions about releasing on July 31. However, that date may be difficult as Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut ‘Sigma’ is also scheduled to release on the same day.The makers are expected to officially announce the release date after the film receives censor clearance.

Directed by H Vinoth, the film is a political action thriller in which Vijay is seen as an ex-cop. It also features Pooja Hegde as the leading lady, Bobby Deol as the main villain, and includes Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mamitha Baiju and others. The film is reportedly Vijay’s last before he focuses on his political career.
