New Delhi: England on Friday announced a 16-man squad for the three-match ODI series against India later this month, with James Coles and fast bowler Josh Tongue named.India and England are currently playing five T20Is before locking horns in three ODIs on July 14, 16 and 19 at Birmingham, Cardiff and Lord’s, respectively.
James Coles, Josh Tongue receive first ODI call-ups
The main talking point in the England squad is the inclusion of Coles and Tongue, who did not make their ODI debuts.The selection will also include seamers Gus Atkinson and Saqib Mahmood as England prepare to face a strong Indian side.
Jofra Archer returns
Fast bowler Jofra Archer has also been selected in the squad and is expected to return to ODI cricket for the first time since November 2025.His return will boost England’s attack ahead of the three-match series.
