Emma Roberts is set to return to the ‘Aquamarine’ franchise after the pilot episode of the TV series is greenlit.

The 35-year-old actress, who rose to fame in the popular chick-flick drama film, is set to return to the world of ‘Aquamarine.’ According to the latest reports, she will reprise her role as Claire Brown and also join the show behind the camera.

People has confirmed in their latest reports that a pilot episode for the ‘Aquamarine’ reboot has been confirmed. In the official development of the series, one of the most famous alumni from the original film is set to join the project on screen and behind it. Emma Roberts, best known for her roles in ‘We’re The Millers’, ‘American Horror Story’, and ‘Scream Queens’, to name a few, stars as Claire Brown. He will also join the series as an executive producer.In addition, the director of the original film, Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum, will return for the reboot project, raising the expectations and excitement of fans. Susan Cartsonis will also join as an executive producer.

Emma Roberts will return to the world of ‘Aquamarine’ nearly two decades after starring in the film alongside Sara Paxton, JoJo, Jake McDorman, Arielle Kebbel, Tammin Sursokand many others. The plot of the film revolves around two best friends, who find a stranded mermaid and decide to help her experience life as a human, while trying to keep her away from her father, who is about to force her into an arranged marriage. The film is based on the works of children’s author Alice Hoffman.
